David Jay Parker, Sr., age 56, of Clare, Michigan formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2017 at Mid-Michigan Health-Midland, in Midland, Michigan. David was born on January 1, 1961 in Cass City, Michigan, the son of Charles Ralph and Beverly Gertrude (Lootens). On December 22, 1994, he married the former Rachel Marie Caffee.
David was a member of Demolay for many years. He was a marksman, enjoyed watching movies and enjoyed his dogs Keelah, Angel and cat BooBoo.
Survivors include his wife Rachel, children: Jacob Parker, Donovan Chaffee, David J. Parker, Jr., Christina (Jake Toney) Parker and Brandon Jones; nephews that were like sons, Roger (Alisha Peters) Chaffee and Kenny Hiffner. Also surviving is a brother, Quentin Parker. Several aunts and uncles including Ruth and Bob Bywater and family, Jan Chaffee and family, Don Chaffee, Darlene and Frank Bigford and family, Leona Knight, Marie Nichols, Joan Lootens, Patty Tupper and Sonja Nichols. Several cousins including Pamela and Jerry Decker and family, David Allen and Bridget Mallay and family, Aimee and Steve Bles and family and many more cousins. Also many nieces and nephews. Siblings-in-law Elsie and Harry Foster. David was preceded in death by both parents, a daughter Danielle, a brother John, a sister Jeannie, a brother-in-law John Chaffee, Grandma and Grandpa Parker, uncle John Lootens, uncle Robert Tupper, uncle Hank Lootens, aunt Dottie Lootens, grandmother Gertrude Lootens, aunt and uncle Joyce and Gary Mallay, uncle Jerry Lootens, uncle David Moore, uncle Art , cousin Jesse Mallay, great aunt Velma, cousins Rusty Nichols and Danny Noah and many other beloved relatives.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the Masonic Lodge, 2174 S. Lincoln Road, Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help with funeral expenses and can be made out and mailed to: Rowley Funeral Home, 330 S. University Ave., Mt. Pleasant.
